About Barcelona Journal
Barcelona Journal is both a monochrome photography project and the home of a new daily serialized novel set in the heart of the city. Through striking black and white imagery, the site captures the soul of Barcelona—its textures, shadows, and timeless contrasts—while the novel brings the city to life through story, character, and imagination.
Each day, a new chapter is released, unfolding a narrative rooted in the same streets, plazas, and perspectives that inspire the photography. From the winding alleys of the Gothic Quarter to the panoramic views atop Montjuïc, Barcelona Journal is a dual exploration: one visual, one literary. The photographs strip away color to reveal the city’s raw detail and mood; the novel layers on emotion, intrigue, and voice.
Together, they create a curated experience—where light, shadow, and story meet—offering a fresh and deeply personal take on Barcelona.
